DNA-based cancer vaccines

📢 Excited to share the publication of our latest research, a study that provides new insights into how DNA-based cancer vaccines may be optimized to enhance anti-tumor immune responses.

While DNA electroporation is widely used to increase neoantigen expression in therapeutic cancer vaccines, our work reveals that its impact extends far beyond gene delivery.

Our findings suggest that electroporation itself creates a microenvironment capable of recruiting activated T cells, independently of the encoded neoantigen. This was further confirmed through vaccination at a second site with an unrelated DNA plasmid and through adoptive T-cell transfer experiments demonstrating preferential homing to electroporated tissues.

These results provide a new perspective on DNA-based cancer vaccination: the effectiveness of a vaccine may depend not only on the antigen it delivers, but also on how the vaccination site orchestrates immune cell localization and activation.

Understanding and modulating these local tissue responses could represent a key strategy to improve the systemic efficacy of personalized cancer vaccines and gene-based immunotherapies.

This publication reinforces Neomatrix's commitment to advancing the science behind next-generation precision immunotherapies and unlocking the full potential of synthetic DNA technologies for oncology.

Congratulations to all researchers and collaborators involved in this important achievement!
